MADISON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

HUNTSVILLE, AL

EMPLOYMENT – CERTIFICATED POSITIONS

The Madison County School System utilizes the TeachInAlabama online application process for posting vacancies and recruiting personnel for certificated positions.

TeachInAlabama, www.alsde.edu/TeachInAlabama/, is the official recruitment website for Alabama’s schools and is designed to easily locate teaching and administrative vacancies throughout Alabama.  It was established by the Alabama State Department of Education to increase the number of qualified teachers and administrators for interviews and employment.

TeachInAlabama can be accessed through any internet connection and allows applicants to securely submit employment information which is protected by encryption software.  A public kiosk for applicants will be available at the Madison County Schools Central Office, 1275 Jordan Road, in Huntsville.

Candidates for certificated positions posted by the Madison County Board of Education must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a valid Alabama Professional Certificate. The Teacher Education and Certification Section of the Alabama State Department of Education, www.alsde.edu, should be contacted regarding the Professional Educator certification process.

After completing the online application, applicants may submit resumes and letters of interest to individual schools for vacant positions.

Local school principals select candidates for interviews based on search criteria specific to the vacancy.  Only candidates who meet Alabama’s definition of Highly Qualified will be recommended for employment.

The Madison County Schools Board Policy File: GBD requires a criminal history background review prior to employment in the Madison County School System.  Additional documents that must be available prior to employment include results of recent (within past year) TB test, social security card, and documents that establish identity and employment eligibility.

All Alabama public school systems are equal opportunity employers and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, disability, or national origin.
