POEMS
“A Family Celebration”
A family celebration is almost like a
vacation.
We plan our own recreation that all
of us enjoy.
Our family jamborees build future
memories.
Our culture and history is something
we all enjoy.
“A Cowboy’s Life”
In the old days, fearless cowboys
roamed all over the west.
They all had countless talents, and
always did their best.
They faced loneliness and weariness
but they could all agree
That cheerfulness was easy ‘cause
they loved the wide prairie.
“Powwow”
A powwow is special. We get there at
dawn.
From morning to
The drums are all beating. They stop
at
It’s time for the feast then so don’t
go away.
We learn about customs and carve
things from wood.
We don’t misbehave. A powwow is good.
“The Country Fair”
Let’s go to the country fair. We’ll
join the dairy contest.
A judge compares and then declares
which cheese wedge tastes the very best.
Let’s go to the country fair. We
saved up our bus fare. We’ll travel far and cross a bridge.
We’ll bring our Swiss cheese to
share.
“The School Chorus”
I like singing in the chorus and when
there’s a school play
we will sing a chord or two and
practice every Friday.
I will use a microphone singing with
my classmates.
We will wear our uniforms.
Our chorus sounds just first-rate!
Later on we’ll have some treats like
bagels and some cocoa.
Before we eat the band will play and
I will play the oboe.
“Have you Heard?”
Have you heard about our great plan?
We’ll help our town and learn.
We’ll wake up at an early hour.
Pride is what we’ll earn.
It’s our vacation. We have time.
We’ll take some action now.
It is tradition to help out.
Just watch. We’ll show you how.
We’ll search our streets and look for
trash
On our spring vacation.
We’ll set in motion our great plans
We’ll have a celebration.
