Prerequisite: Digital Electronics and Robotics and currently enrolled or have taken Pre-Calculus and or Algebra II w/Trigonometry

Recommended: Physics or currently enrolled in Physics

Fundamentals of Engineering I is a math and science-based engineering and technology elective course that provides students with a firm foundation in the basics of engineering.  A course that provides an overview of Engineering and Engineering technology utilizing VEX automated systems to create project based applications that will simulate real-world problems. Students will utilize innovative robotic curriculum to brainstorm, design, build and test various robotic cells.

Fundamentals of Engineering II

Grade Level: 11-12

Prerequisite: Programming for Engineers I, Fundamentals of Engineers I

Recommended: Physics, Pre-Calculus and Instructor Recommendation from Engineering Academy Chairperson

A course that advances students involvement in the practical application of scientific and mathematical principles of solving real world and/or simulated problems, communicating technical information and providing education and training in current and emerging

technologies. Lab-View software will be used to collect data and perform data analysis.

Panorama software will be implemented for image processing and data collection.

Exposure to real world engineering will be granted through multiple field-trips

to companies specializing in each discipline of engineering such as: Civil, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace, etc. The student will also master the Lab View computer programming language and will complete design projects, which include

class presentations. Students will finish will complete course with an extensive research report that will allow them to communicate writing and reading skills in various engineering fields.
